“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.”
Jonathan Winters

“This quote reminds me of my grandmother, a pioneering lawyer and civic leader and one of the smartest people I ever met. She taught me from a young age that if you want something, don’t wait for it to happen, go for it and don’t let obstacles deter you from your goals. Her perception had a huge impact on my life and the person I became.

I am determined and a problem-solver by nature. I persevere—whether it’s passing my last skating test to be a senior-ranked figure skater (even though I’d been told a year before that I would never skate again) or finding a family member through my genealogical research that few relatives even knew existed. I appreciate the challenge of a mystery and the excitement, for me that follows.

I come from a long line of math and finance-oriented women. Numbers and how they relate to people intrigues me, so financial planning is a great fit. At Cornerstone, I’m responsible for establishing and servicing client accounts, as well as handling client relations. It’s perfect for me because I love helping people and I love variety. My work is never the same from one day to the next. It’s all about problem-solving and being of service, and I feel such a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.

I consider myself lucky to live in Maine with my best friend and wonderful husband, Jason and our spotted tabby cat, Simone. Growing up in Massachusetts, spending weekends at my grandparent’s homes in Western Maine and Bar Harbor, I knew Maine would always have a special place in my heart. Maine offers something unique that I have yet to find anywhere else in my travels.

I love to travel and explore places off the beaten path, which is part of why I love to help plan other people’s vacations, as an independent travel agent. On weekends my husband and I enjoy the outdoors, whether it is gardening, hiking, fishing or sitting in Adirondack chairs looking out at Mount Washington. I’m also a big national park fan because my father started my brother and me, and now my husband on collecting a “passport stamp” from every park we visited in the last 24 years. It is a great way to explore the country and have a permanent memento to remember the trip.”
