Divorce Planning

Financial planning during the divorce process can help an individual reach the settlement that fully addresses his or her long-term financial needs. In addition it can save valuable time, money and stress, especially if conducted early in the legal proceedings.

Jill Boynton, who is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™, will work with you to address areas such as:

  • The financial and tax advantages and disadvantages of accepting or retaining specific assets
  • Determining alimony needs
  • Projecting income and expenses after assets are divided
  • Settlement of debt obligations

These services are offered on an hourly fee basis. Our fee is $200 per hour and a typical engagement is between 4 and 10 hours.

The Process

Our engagement begins with an initial appointment at no cost to you. We ask that you bring along any and all of your notes or divorce-related documents to this meeting. We will identify your needs and priorities and determine the scope of work to be completed. This will enable us to give you an estimate of the cost.

We typically meet 1-3 more times, which may include accompaniment to mediation, or periodically as you proceed with your negotiations, before finalizing our analysis and recommendations.

We understand how emotionally draining a divorce can be; we're here to offer support and guidance in this process. To have a confidential conversation with Jill, please call 603.431.1133.
