What is a Certified B Corporation™?
Certified B Corporations™, or B Corps™, are businesses that meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. These for-profit companies use the power of business to build a more inclusive and sustainable economy. This certification can help consumers identify companies with a mission, and help investors select investments that align with their values.
Since its inception in 2004, Cornerstone Financial Planning has put human and environmental impact at the forefront of business decisions. The B Corporation™ mission and community align with the values and ethics that Cornerstone was founded upon, including our dedication to providing Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) options to clients. Cornerstone became a Certified B Corporation™ in 2019 and is the first financial planning company in Maine to qualify for B Corp™ status.
Over the years as Cornerstone has evolved and grown, our B Corporation™ status has remained an integral pillar, helping to inform business decisions at our small, women-owned company. We value environmental stewardship, strong communities, equal opportunity, and a healthy workplace; just a few reasons Cornerstone is proud to be a Certified B Corporation™.
