Mid-Year Financial Assessment
Posted by Jill Boynton on June 14, 2021
Summer is here and many of us are headed outside! Who wants to spend their days thinking about finances when we can be at the beach instead? That is completely understandable, but we still suggest taking just a few minutes to do a mid-year review of your finances. Here are a few things to consider:
- Are you on track to contribute the maximum dollar amount to your company retirement plan?
- Will you be contributing to your company retirement plan through December 31, or will you max out sooner than that? If you do max out before the end of the year you may lose out on some company matching contributions.
- Are your estate planning documents more than 5 years old? If so, make an appointment to meet with your attorney in the fall and review them.
- Are you on track to meet your savings goals or debt payoff goals this year, or does your plan need some adjustment?
In no time at all you can be confident your financial plan is still strong. Then go outside and soak up the sun!
