Mackenzie’s Gingerbread House Tradition Continues

Posted by on January 16, 2018

Mackenzie has completed her 15th annual gingerbread house! In past years she has made a lighthouse, barn and log cabin. This year she made a replica of her boyfriend’s business, River Bottom Raw Bar, located in Newcastle, Maine. This house took 8 cups of flour, 1 full jar of molasses, 6 cups of powder sugar and 4 days to design, bake, construct and decorate.

Mackenzie’s dad helps her with the blueprints. There is always a discussion as to the size. Mackenzie wants bigger and bigger while her dad wants to stay true to scale.  Mackenzie was especially proud of the ‘glass’ windows as this was her first attempt at them. Brainstorming for next year has already begun!
