Cornerstone has deep roots in our local communities – both through our company values that emphasize service and via our B Corporation™ designation, which incorporates our commitment to civic engagement and effecting positive change in our communities. Today, September 9, kicks off Welcoming Week here in Portland, ME, part of the larger nationwide Welcoming America initiative aimed at creating more welcoming communities where everyone belongs.
As part of Welcoming Week, I’m Your Neighbor Books is serving as a partner to USM’s Department of Literacy Education on their NEA Big Read in Portland, Maine in Fall 2022. IYN Books will support the Big Read by bringing the conversation about immigration to the United States to Portland classrooms from Head Start through High School. Cornerstone’s Anna Traugh will be volunteering at the book delivery event and will be assisting in delivering these donated children’s books to local Portland Public Schools with other members of the Portland community.
